Dr Enzo Mangano has been recently awarded best Italian early-stage academic working in Scotland in Physical and Engineering Sciences. The award, which is now at its 3rd edition, was made this year for the first time also as a separate prize for Italian researchers working in Scotland.
Dr Mangano was presented with his award by the Italian Consul in Edinburgh, Carlo Perrotta, and the Science Attaché at the Italian Embassy in London, Prof. Roberto di Lauro. The award ceremony was held at the University of Glasgow hosted by the Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Anton Muscatelli.
The 'Italy Made Me' awards are presented to young Italian researchers working in UK who have received part of their training in Italy in recognition of innovative results obtained in each of the ERC domains:
- Life Sciences
- Physical and Engineering Sciences
- Social Sciences & Humanities
The award process was coordinated by the Italian Embassy in London and the Italian Consulate in Edinburgh, in collaboration with the association "Il Circolo, the Association of Italian Scientists in the UK (AISUK) and the Italian Scientific Commitee in Scotland.
